Fluorinated gases (F-Gases) are man-made gases that, because they don’t damage the atmospheric ozone layer, are often used as substitutes for ozone-depleting substances. The current F-gas Regulation, which applies since 1 January 2015, replaces the original F-gas Regulation adopted in 2006. The implementing Regulations of the original Regulation remain in force and continue to apply until new acts are adopted. The Commission is in the process of reviewing the current F-gas Regulation (see below).
